Initially the owners of this property purchased this lot with the premise that at the very least the interior views would capture the adjacent golf course and nature beyond.
However after the first meeting on site, Mike Dunsmuir of Step One opted to take things a step further –and suggested creating an angled footprint for this home where they could benefit two ways: direct approach to front entry and appeal streetside but more importantly capture stunning unrealized views.
The million-dollar city views and ocean straits far off in the distance just waited to be sought and there they were, lying dormant off in the opposite direction to where the clients previously thought the now less substantial views were. By spending time on the property prior to design, with a compass in hand, Mike Dunsmuir of Step One Design and the clients were determined to find the perfect view corridor.
Designing the plans and paying attention to every detail, Mike was able to get living, and outdoor space for the occupants, hit their wish list, and then some AND capture stunning panoramic views of both the spectacular golf course at the back of the home, while at the same time the city and ocean views at the front.
The best of both worlds may take longer to achieve but always well worth it in the end.
The home turned out to be stunning, with a modern mountain aesthetic exterior, and a crisp and clean interior, with master bedroom on the main and bedrooms and media up. A show stopper from every angle.
A worthwhile and rewarding project, that is testament that spending a bit more time and attention during the design process always pays dividends.
